We are an indoor environmental consultancy firm with over 20 years of experience investigating indoor environmental problems / complaints in existing buildings. In comparison with some of the scientists from the HEMAC network, we have a more practical / pragmatic approach to indoor environmental quality assessments. This is due to the fact that we have to solve indoor environmental complaints on a daily basis. This means we have to interpret and apply the available scientific knowledge and can’t always wait until there is broad scientific consensus.

We are also involved in the development of standards and guidelines regarding IEQ and in recent years we have conducted a lot of investigations for health- and comfort-related lawsuits.

One of the larger studies we have conducted is a nation-wide study in 300 newly build (energy efficient) dwellings where we investigated the performance of ventilation systems together with the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. Although this research was conducted in 2009, the results are still valid for the performance of Dutch ventilation systems in newly build dwellings today.
