The aim of the sandpit event (which took place on the 25th April 2017) was to determine key research needs and identify opportunities for funding applications for cross-disciplinary projects, building on the outcomes of the previous activities. The sandpit event assisted with the development of novel research projects, by allowing participants to brainstorm and refine ideas for collaborations.

Objectives

The objectives of the sandpit event were as follows:
• Identify 3-4 potential research projects and suitable partners (academic and industry)
• Identify literature, scope of project, potential funders and tasks for bid preparation
